Torn From The Headlines

Im not a religious person but we all have times when we think that's all re can really turn to weather its worshiping in a major religion or hailing praise to an inanimate object. When I was 19, a close friend of mine had just died and I had no place and noone I could really talk to. I walked into a church near my dads house, walked into one of the alcoves, lit a candle, and prayed to you sterio typical saints about your stereotypical souls. I must have been in there for at least an hour. When I was done I sat in one of the pews just to think and a priest walked up to and asked me if anything was wrong, as I had been in the church an awful long time. After explaining my situation he looks at me and replies, "look at that homeless person out the window. God gave him life and all he does is squander it. it may or may not be his fault that he lives on the streetbut there is one thing that he never realized and that is god gave him gift. He gave him the gift of life. He may be happy but that is up to him to decide. If he doesn't want to, I mean really want to get off the street then he will take the actions to do so. But until he chooses to embrace his gift he will always be out in the cold." coming from a priest this was a really weird thing to be hearing, but in some weird, fucked up way it made a lot of sense and it is something that still stays with me.

if you look at the headlines in the paper all you see is war, robberies, and other assortments of, well, really bad karma. Every thing in this world is related to everything else in some sort of manner. A huge spider web. If something makes sense in one thing then there is a chance that later along the road it will make sense in something else that is not even remotely related unless you really think about it. The downside is that not a lot of people can realize this because they are stuck in their own little worlds. The phrase "torn from the headlines" keeps making more and more sense. When you read the headlines today it tears you up inside. If the leaders of the world and the criminals realized that it was a big web then the world really would b a much better place.

by now you must be wondering how these to things are related. So now it is tome to stop staring quizzically at you screens and wipe the droll off you keyboards. If you don't drop all the politics and just live you will never see the big picture. When you are political you see things from a one way mirror, always looking back at yourself. Next time something comes your way that you really don't know how to deal with take a step back and look at things from a different point of view. I think the world will make a lot more sense if you do.
